The Gears of War 3 PlayStation 3 prototype build, unearthed some time ago, is now available for general download.
The build is now available for download at. archive.orgHowever, at this time only PlayStation 3 devkit can run the build. Introducing the build for the first time and releasing it online this week, Hacker PixelButts provided some additional information about the build and confirmed that it could be run on a PC via the RPCS3 emulator.
Originally created during engine testing, it was leaked 10 years ago and remained unusable data while circulating between collectors and exchanging hands. I was the first person to make this data work nine years later, and I decided it was time to release it on the 10th anniversary of the build’s creation (May 19, 2021). So far, this is the only Epic data created for the PS3 version of the game, and all other data is created with the leaked source code.
In addition, you can find fixed and bootable data in the archive. This data closely matches the layout of the desired disk image, but boots from the HDD instead. To use this, you need PS3devkit. This does not work on a regular PS3 system. Requires additional RAM from DEVKIT. RPCS3 is optional, but not currently (but it launches in the title screen).
